Q&A with Charly

Q. You’ve worked on loads of projects since you started freelancing for Studio B61. Is there one that stands out as something you’re particularly proud of?

A. I’m really proud of designing the TJs logo and food menu. It was great to see the work in the actual restaurant setting.

Q. What are you looking forward to the most now that your are full time?

A. The thing I am most looking forward to is getting stuck into even more projects.

Q. What’s your favourite part of being a graphic designer?

A. My favourite part of being a graphic designer is being able to be creative every day and to put my mark on a company’s design material.

Q. What’s your favourite part of working at Studio B61?

A. My favourite part of working at Studio B61 is working alongside Hannah in an awesome, creative studio.

Q. What part of your skillset has improved the most since you came to work for us?

A. I would say that my Adobe software skills have improved the most since starting at studio B61.

Q. What is an unlikely skill that has helped you as a designer?

A. My tea and coffee making skills!

Q. What is your greatest design challenge?

A. My greatest design challenge is trying to fit lots of content into a set template.

Q. Share something about your work that you wish you’d known when you set out as a designer.

A. I wish that I had known I had the capability to progress to a professional level.

Q. What do you want to design that you haven’t yet?

A. I would love to design a cool and creative magazine.

Q. If you weren’t a designer, what would you be doing instead?

A. I actually can’t think of anything else I would be doing!

Q. What’s one thing you can’t live without?

A. The one thing I can’t live without definitely has to be chocolate.

Q. What advice do you have for a client when working with a graphic designer?

A. I would say the best advice for a client would be to trust the designer and take their advice.

Q. Best advice you can give to young graphic designers?

A. The best advice I would give to young graphic designers is to believe in yourself and work hard.

Q. What’s your 1 goal you want to achieve in your first 6 months at Studio B61?

I would love to learn as much as possible and take on the responsibility of dealing with a project from start to finish.
