After 3 years at Sanders Road it’s time to pack our bags, cradle our iMacs like they were our first born and move on to a new home.
We have loved our time at Sanders Road in Bromsgrove but with us all commuting from Bewdley/Kidderminster it made sense to start looking for a premises closer to home.
“One of the things I love about running my own business is being able to be creative when I want to be, not within the usual 9-5. If inspiration strikes, I want to be in front of my mac straight away, whatever time of day… so the office being 5 minutes away is going to be great” – Hannah D
Our current clients are spread all over the country so we really aren’t tied to one area but moving the business to a new area gives us an exciting opportunity to expand our network.
It’s been a relatively smooth process to find a new premises. We were looking around the Wyre Forest area for several weeks before finding the one. On August 10th we had the go ahead to pick up the keys to our new premises.
The premises is a stones throw away from Kidderminster train station, which is ideal for us to jump on a train to visit our clients in London and for clients to come see us.
It’s perfect for us, we have the whole top floor of the building (just over 700 sq ft) which makes an easy transition from our current office, but what really sold it was that the space is split into 4 rooms. Office, Studio, Workshop and Kitchen. It’s an ideal space for us to grow into. One of our focuses for the next year is to expand our clothing printing business ‘Outpost Apparel’ and having a dedicated room for that is going to really help. We wanted to make sure we still had the space for the photography studio, which it does, along with a separate room for customers to grab a coffee while they wait for their shoot and a larger changing area.
The new premises needs a lot of work to make it the creative hub for our agency. We’ve stripped everything out and are really starting from scratch with the decor. Once we work our magic, it will be transformed into a chic design and photography studio worthy of many a Pinterest inspiration board.
What about printing?
Unfortunately we are moving away from the printing company who we have happily shared our unit with for the past 3 years, however they have also found a great space just down the road from us in Kidderminster. So we’ll still be working together. We’ll still have a great production time with competitive prices on a range of printed material, and they’ll be popping by regularly for printing advice and consultations about the final product throughout the design process.
So, we are happy to announce we are now the proud tenants of 13 Comberton Hill, Kidderminster.
We hope that it will create many opportunities for Studio B61 to grow even further in its 3rd year.
We’ll be moved in to our new home by 16th September, and we’ll be sharing lots of the renovation over the next few weeks on Instagram.
